The Art Gala : All Colors Of Happiness on May 7th in Philadelphia had fun introducing some colorful designers. One of them is talented young fashion designer Tiffany Kennard. Tiffany agreed to tell us a little bit about herself and her artistic journey.

Private Paparazzi Productions: How did you get started?
Tiffany Kennard: I have always loved to see since I was a child. My mother and grandmother were seamstresses, so sewing came naturally to me. After I completed Highschool I decided to go to college for fashion design. Once I graduated from Moore college of art and design I started my own women’s clothing line, TKay & Company.

PPP: Where do you find your inspiration?
TK: My inspiration literally comes from anything that I see. Every time I see an already made outfit I tweak it in my head to make it better or more unique. My inspiration also comes from the beautiful clothing that was made in old black and white movies or back in the early 1900s. I love vintage looks.

PPP: What designers have influenced you most?
T.K.: Giambattista, Stephane Rolland, Reem Acra, and Elie Saab

PPP: Please tell us about your collection for The Art Gala: Al Colors of Happiness.
T.K.: My collection was inspired by the designs and colors of Africa. I really love African prints; they are so beautiful. So I decided to do and African collection with flare.

What interesting projects are you working on now?
T.K.: Right now I am working on doing a photo shoot for all my previous collections as well as the one that was in the Art Gala Fashion Show so I can put up a website.

PPP: What are the biggest challenges to be a fashion designer?
T. K.: Trying to make sure I have the money to make all my visions not only come to light, but come out the way I want them to to my audience.

PPP: What advice would you give to a new artist?
T.K.: Fashion/designing has to be something that is truly in your heart and something you are truly passionate about. Because without the love and passion you will give in quickly because of all the obstacles that will surely come your way being in the world of fashion.

What impact do you hope to make in the next 5 years as a fashion designer?
T.K.: I want women to know they can feel sexy and fierce inside and outside of the work place and don’t have to be uncomfortable to do it!

PPP: What is you favorite achievement as a fashion designer?
T.K.: Starting my business TKay & Company.

PPP: What is you biggest achievement in life?
T.K.: For my business to be prosperous and to be happy in all that I do.

PPP: Is it something no one knows about you?
T.K.: Something that no one knows about me is that I am hardest on myself when it comes to my work. Sometimes even when everyone else says I did well I don’t always think so all the way.

PPP: What do you want to be known and remembered for?
T.K.: Being the designer that always truly cared about her clients and never made them feel like just “another customer” or “number” in line.
